Overview

This regularly scheduled educational series is designed to support registered nurses and advanced practice nurses in maintaining and enhancing clinical competence, professional practice, and patient-centered care. The series provides ongoing education on current evidence-based practices, emerging clinical guidelines, quality and safety initiatives, and interprofessional care coordination relevant to nursing practice across care settings.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Summarize the primary aims, methods, and key findings of both reviews.
  2. Compare different AI applications in emergency care and triage, including their reported benefits and limitations.
  3. Discuss ethical, operational, and implementation challenges associated with AI use in clinical settings.
  4. Propose future research directions needed to establish clinical effectiveness and real-world applicability of AI systems.
  5. Use critical appraisal skills in group discussion of the presented research articles.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

NCPD (Nurses): the maximum number of hours awarded for this Nursing Continuing Professional Development activity is 1.5 contact hours.

Completion o this RD/DTR profession-specific or IPCE activity awards CPEUs (1 IPCE credits = 1 CPEU).

If the activity is dietetics related but not targeted to RDs or DTRs, CPEUs may be claimed which are commensurate with participation in contact hours (1hour/60 minutes = 1 CPEU).

RDs and DTRs are to select activity type 102 in their Activity Logs. Performance Indicator selection is at the learner's discretion.

American Red Cross designates this continuing education activity for 1.5 CPEUs.
