This two-day interprofessional conference brings together members of the healthcare team, representatives from the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Committee, to address a critical professional practice gap: the need for improved familiarity with, and application of, current scientific literature related to public health emergencies.

Through expert-led sessions, this conference aims to equip participants with tools to identify, interpret, and apply the latest scientific research across disciplines. Attendees will also develop strategies to enhance interprofessional communication and cooperation, enabling unified and evidence-based updates to emergency response guidelines.

1. Evaluate current scientific literature to identify best practices in public health emergency response for integration into educational materials and publications.
2. Outline proposed updates to Scientific Advisory Council guidelines using clear and effective verbal and written communication across the healthcare team.
3. Develop interprofessional, evidence-based guidelines in collaboration with the healthcare team to strengthen communication, shared values, team performance, and patient outcomes during public health emergencies.

In support of improving patient care, American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 

This CE activity is accredited for 13.50 Educator CEH by the American Red Cross, an organization accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education.

 

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 13.50 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.

CME (Physicians) Credit

American Red Cross designates this live activity for a maximum of 13.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

NCPD (Nurses) Credit

The maximum number of hours awarded for this Nursing Continuing Professional Development activity is 13.50 contact hours.

BOC (Athletic Trainers) CEU Credit

American Red Cross (BOC AP#: BOC360) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of 13.50 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
