Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Analyze current peer review literature to increase the knowledge base and confidence required to deliver care that is up to date and supported by the latest evidence-based practice guidelines.
  2. Outline updated practice protocols using clear and effective verbal and written communication across the healthcare team.
  3. Identify interprofessional, evidence-based practices in collaboration with the healthcare team to strengthen individual and team performance and patient outcomes.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

NCPD (Nurses): the maximum number of hours awarded for this Nursing Continuing Professional Development activity is 6.0 contact hours.

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, American Red Cross is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. American Red Cross maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 6.0 general continuing education credits.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
